About Sobel Wellness

Sobel Wellness was founded by Meredith Sobel, MS. Meredith holds a MS in Nutrition Education from Teachers College at Columbia University and has studied cooking at the Institute for Culinary Education (ICE).  She is currently in the CADE approved dietetic internship program at Utah State University and will be certified as a  Registered Dietitian and Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN) by the State of New York in February of 2012.  In addition she received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College and holds a prior masters degree in Health Policy and Management from Harvard.

In addition to her private practice as a chef and nutrition educator, Meredith is an adjunct professor at Monroe College in the Bronx and at CUNY’s John Jay College in the Health and Physical Education Department and a general health and wellness interventionist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

When not teaching or cheffing, Meredith can be found rowing on the Harlem river, running in central park or biking up the palisades.  She has had several prior career experiences including prep cook at Tocqueville restaurant in Union Square, barista, bond trader, quantitative analyst, medical device marketeer and news reporter. Nutrition and culinary education are definitely her favorites!
